Hardware FAQ

Why do some keys stop working when I hold others?

This is called "Ghosting" or "Blocking". It occurs when the keyboard's internal circuitry cannot distinguish between the electrical signals of simultaneously pressed keys.

Does polling rate matter for typing?

Absolutely. A 1000Hz (1ms) polling rate ensures that the latency between actuation and on-screen registration is minimized, which is vital for rhythm games and elite level typing.

Did you know that many office keyboards can only register 3 to 6 keys at once? This is called "6-Key Rollover" (6KRO). Professional gaming keyboards feature "N-Key Rollover," allowing you to press every single key simultaneously without losing a signal!

How to Use the Keyboard Test

Operating the Matrix Analysis tool is simple. Just press any key on your physical keyboard, and its corresponding digital twin will light up on the screen. The "Input Stream" at the bottom of the page will log every signal our server receives, allowing you to check for double-inputs or stuck switches.

To test for Ghosting, try pressing multiple keys at once (e.g., W, A, S, D, and Shift). If one of them doesn't light up, your keyboard has reached its rollover limit.
